First reading (1Kings 19:19-21). Life is an ongoing journey of discovery of God, self, and the world around us. It is unhelpful to embark in any sacred work without a consciousness of the Divine call. 

Gospel (Matthew 5:33-37). Despite our personal imperfections, we should reach out in hope, full of the joy of the gospel.
