Our Daily Bread : 2 Points from God's Word Today
Thursday 13th June 2024
First reading (1 Kings 18:41-46). A deep and powerful prayer life is rooted in faith-believing in God’s promises and having complete trust in God even in moments of difficulties and challenges. Like Elijah, if we desire to have a profound and powerful prayer life, we must have faith and confidence in God’s goodness.
Gospel (Matthew 5:20-26). Our offering to God must be accompanied by charity. It is not possible to hate and humiliate a brother or sister and participate worthily in the Eucharist, the sacrament of love. If you still bear hatred, bitterness against a brother / sister asks our Lord for the grace to put the means so that forgiveness, reconciliation, peace and inner joy would be possible.
